Gateway Management Services (GMS)

To maintain a business in the 21st century, access to the Internet is a must. This access can deliver important data, orders from customers, or simple electronic mail. Tele-computers can gain access to your businesses systems and data from home through secure “Tunnels” over this public medium while avoiding the costly lines which have been required in the past. This level of access from the outside can also invite trouble. Some people spend their spare time trying to see what systems they can access and what information they can steal. It is imperative that you protect your business from these intruders.

SonicWall has several key strengths

  • They are Appliances. They don’t require a server running an operating system. This reduces licensing and support costs.
  • They are easy to administrate - They are managed through a browser and don’t require special management software to operate.
  • They can include higher-end services such as Content Filtering, Anti-Virus Protection, and Load Balancing that you won’t find on other firewalls in their price range.
  • SonicWall, Inc. updates the firmware for their products several times a year to include protection from the latest Internet hacks and attacks. This allows a firewall which may be three years old to protect you as well as a brand new unit.
  • They are comparatively inexpensive firewalls.

While SonicWall can protect your business from the outside world, they must be properly maintained and licensed so that you can continue to receive technical support, firmware downloads, and a hardware warranty. CyberStreams, Inc. has invested in a system to help manage all firewalls deployed at customer sites. This system allows us to not only maintain and extend your support, firmware, and warranty, but it also allows us to provide you with usage and threat data which you would otherwise spend hours attempting to compile from the firewalls logs.

CyberStreams, Inc. Gateway Management Services allow us to license and support your SonicWall firewall remotely for a monthly fee. There are two tiered levels of GMS support: Basic GMS and Premium GMS

Basic GMS

  • Maintain 8x5 Support Services with SonicWall – For every month we maintain your SonicWall firewall, you retain 8x5 access to SonicWall’s Technical Support Center to help resolve technical issues.
  • Maintain the Firewall’s Extended Warranty – For every month we maintain your SonicWall firewall, your hardware warranty is extended.
  • Maintain Software Download Status – It is important to receive the latest firmware. This gives your SonicWall the ability to protect you from the latest Internet Hacks and provides the latest operational enhancements.
  • Automatic Installation of new Firmware – When a new firmware release is available, our system automatically downloads and installs it to your firewall. This saves you time and money. You don’t have to schedule or pay a technician to come out and install the update. This is especially handy for users who have TELE3s at their homes. You won’t have to arrange for a technician to come to your house after-hours. Having the system automatically install the firmware has another added benefit – all of your devices will always be on the same firmware revision at all times. This provides an extra level of stability for your VPN connections.
  • Monthly statistics collected and emailed with a threat assessment – Twice a month we will email you with the statistics that our server collected from your firewall. This report includes sites visited, who tried to attack your firewall, and other valuable information which will give you a better picture of how your company is using the Internet. Most of this information can’t easily be collected from a standard firewall installation.
  • Provides an Audit Trail for HIPAA Compliance – The HIPAA guidelines state that in the Final Security Rule an audit trail should be accessible for any exposure to the Internet. Our service collects this audit trail and delivers it in your monthly report. Without this service, you only have emailed logs and warnings to fall back upon which would take several hours a month to organize in to an effective audit trail.

Premium GMS

  • All of the services in the Basic GMS Services – Plus…
  • 4 Hour or less response on down units – Any time your firewall fails you loose access to the web, all emails, and all vendor and customer internet services. Under this service, we will guarantee that our technicians will be on site to resolve your issue within 4 hours. This can help reduce the “Down Time” and productivity loss to your company.
  • Same day replacement of returned units with a “Loaner” Firewall – If your Firewall fails and needs to be replaced, any firewall manufacturers including SonicWall will overnight a replacement as long as your unit remains under warranty. If this failure occurs on a Thursday afternoon, your replacement would ship out on Friday and you would be up and running by Monday Afternoon. The possibility of being down for 5 days is unacceptable to most businesses. To help in these situations, CyberStreams, Inc. has several different models of “Loaner” SonicWalls. If your SonicWall fails and you need to wait for a replacement, CyberStreams, Inc. will loan you a firewall to use until your replacement arrives.
